Asset tag |
The asset unique identification name. This value can be computed automatically (defined in System settings) or entered manually. Use the button provided, to enter the asset tag manually, or press it again if you wish that the asset tag should be automatically generated. You can search for asset configuration items using quick search based on this field. |
GUID |
"Show GUID..." -link displays the asset's Globally Unique Identifier. |
Device name |
The asset unique network identification name. This value can be automatically computed (defined in system settings). See device name re-generation for more information. Note! After changing the asset's status from 'Active' to 'Withdrawn from service' and removing the device name of the asset, the device name is changed to its asset's GUID. After activating the asset again, a new device name must be specified for the asset, because the device name for active device can't be the same as its asset's GUID. This is only required when the automatic naming for devices is disabled from the system settings. |
Model |
The model is assigned to the asset configuration item from the Miradore asset model items catalog. The asset model item is the definition for a single hardware or virtual model. |
IMEI |
The IMEI code field is only shown for mobile devices. The International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) is a number unique to every mobile phone. It can be displayed on the screen of the device by entering *#06# into the keypad on most phones. IMEI and/or MAC address must be provided and must be unique. |
UDID |
The UDID is only shown for mobile devices. The UDID is unique for every device and it is used for the identification purposes. |
Phone number |
Enter here the phone number. |
Serial number |
The serial number is used to identify the correct asset configuration item when starting the initial installation. Serial number and/or MAC address must be provided and must be unique. |
MAC address |
The MAC address is used to identify the correct asset configuration item when starting the initial installation in case a serial number is not available or it's not unique. Serial number and/or MAC address must be provided and must be unique. The Media Access Control address (MAC address) is a unique identifier assigned to network adapters or network interface cards (NICs) by the manufacturer. |

Asset status |
An asset configuration item can have following system statuses:

Detailed status |
The detailed status can explain the asset status in more details. The detailed statuses are managed (add/remove) in the system settings. You may define as many detailed statuses to your Miradore as required. This field can be disabled/enabled from system settings for each system status separately (by default disabled for all system statuses). |
Status change reason |
In case more information of the asset status is required. The reasons can be created and configured disabled/enabled and if required defined mandatory in the system settings. |
Workflows |
This field displays all asset confirmation request, asset data update request and asset data mismatch workflows that are related to this asset configuration item. Asset information update and confirmation process is used to validate asset information on a regular basis by requesting the responsible person of asset to check and confirm the information of the asset(s) that have been assigned to his/her responsibility. The asset's responsible person can validate the asset information with the help of Self service portal or email that is sent to him when asset data confirmation is requested. With the help of Self service portal, device users can request update to information concerning assets that have been assigned to their responsibility. The users are able to request the following types of asset data updates:
Asset data update requests view lists all asset data update requests that the users have sent with the help of Self service portal. Asset data mismatch view lists all asset attributes that contain mismatching information between the asset configuration item and inventory reports. The mismatches are also highlighted on the Asset configuration item form. Asset confirmation requests, asset data update requests and asset data mismatches are shown on the Asset configuration item form as red highlights of the corresponding attribute. By selecting the highlighted attribute, a pop-up window is opened with the possibility to validate the attribute. The options (available only in Edit mode) are:

Planned removal date |
This field represents the planned removal date for this asset. The remaining time in days is calculated into parenthesis next to this date. This field can be enabled/disabled from Administration > System settings > Main > Asset management > Additional attributes. Additionally, the field can be set as required field. By default, the field is disabled. |

Device role |
The device role is a high level explanation of the use of a network connected asset. All packages inherited for the asset initial installation is based on defined asset role and operating system. |
Device usage |
The device usage explains the detailed use of an asset. All device usages are categorized based on the device role, which must be chosen when selecting a device usage. Software packages can be inherited from the specified device usage. |
Network connectivity |
Select if asset is connected to network. Values Yes/No/Limited. Default is Yes if hardware category type is Computer, mobile- or network device. The "Limited" option works exactly like "Yes", meaning that network connectivity information can be stored for the asset configuration item, but it helps to identify assets which have limited network connectivity. If network connectivity is set to "No", network connectivity information cannot be stored for the asset configuration item. Notice that there is no difference between "Network connectivity = Yes" and "Network connectivity = Limited" when calculating what assets require a Miradore license. |
DHCP |
Define if DHCP is used or not. This value is used also in the initial installation process. |
IP address |
Enter the device's IP address. This field is hidden if DHCP is enabled. |
Subnet |
Select the sub network to which the device belongs. The subnets are inherited from the asset configuration item's location. This field is hidden if DHCP is enabled. |
Gateway |
This attribute is inherited from the selected subnet. This field is hidden if DHCP is enabled. |
WINS servers |
This attribute is inherited from the asset configuration item's location. This field is hidden if DHCP is enabled. |
DNS servers |
This attribute is inherited from the asset configuration item's location. This field is hidden if DHCP is enabled. |
DNS suffixes |
This attribute is inherited from the asset configuration item's location. This field is hidden if DHCP is enabled. |
SNMP scan enabled |
Determines whether the SNMP scan for the device is enabled or disabled. |
SNMP community |
Here you can define a community name used by the SNMP scanner. If none is defined then scanner default is used. Scanner default is set in system settings. This field is hidden if SNMP scan is disabled. |
Automated installation |
This field defines if the asset can be installed or reinstalled using Miradore initial installation method. If automated installation is disabled, the device's responsible person cannot reinstall the computer through Self-service portal either. Read Reinstalling a Windows computer through Self-service portal for more information. When automated installation is enabled, the "Initial installation settings" tab is shown on the Asset configuration item's left navigation menu. Values: Yes/No, default value is set based on device role. If automated initial installation is enabled, the following attributes must be defined from the Initial installation settings tab:

Displays the operating system installed into this asset. |
Remote management enabled |
This field defines whether it is possible to enter remote management information to this asset configuration form. If Remote management enabled =yes, then Management address/URL, IP address, DNS name, Username, and Password fields are enabled for use. Otherwise, the fields are not visible on the asset configuration form. This field is shown on the asset configuration form only when remote management is enabled from "Administration > System settings > Asset management > Additional attributes > Remote management" in the management console of Miradore. |
Management address/URL |
This field defines the management address/URL used for remote management. This field is shown on the asset configuration form only when "Remote management enabled = Yes". This field is only shown to device's administrators (users who have right to edit the asset configuration item contents). |
IP address |
This field defines the IP address used for remote management. This field is shown on the asset configuration form only when "Remote management enabled = Yes". This field is only shown to device's administrator(s) (users who have right to edit the asset configuration item contents). |
DNS name |

Username |

Password |
This field defines the password that is used in conjunction with the username for remote management. Show characters check box defines whether the password characters are displayed or not. Check the check box if you wish to see the actual characters rather than black dots. This field is shown on the asset configuration form only when "Remote management enabled = Yes". This field is only shown to device's administrator(s) (users who have right to edit the asset configuration item contents). |
Backup |
This field displays whether endpoint backup is enabled for this device. Click the "Show backups..." link to see the Endpoint backup jobs configured to run on this device. |

Responsible person is typically the end user of the asset. When item page is automatically generated based on inventory data, responsible person is set based on the current user of the asset. |
Shared userID |
If a shared user account is used to login to the asset, it can be selected here. This field can be enabled/disabled from Administration > System settings > Main > Asset management > Additional attributes. Additionally, the field can be set as required field. By default, the field is disabled. |
Organisation |
The organisation item is inherited from the responsible persons settings (user item). The organisation item can be used for categorizing assets, defining organisation based system permissions and configuring initial installation settings. |
Company name |
Name of the company. This field can be enabled/disabled from Administration > System settings > Main > Asset management > Additional attributes. Additionally, the field can be set as required field. By default, the field is disabled. |
Location |
Assign the correct location for this asset configuration item. The location item can be used for categorizing assets, defining location based system permissions and configuring initial installation settings. The asset configuration item may inherit many settings from location item. Notice that one location can have multiple addresses. The addresses associated with the location can be shown on asset configuration form by clicking the Show addresses -link. If some location is greyed out in the location selection popup, administrator might have configured the location to be unselectable for assets at the location item, which means that you must assign the asset to some other location instead. |
Detailed location |
A detailed location (like desk, room or server rack) can be entered here in case the compulsory location attribute is not precise enough. This field can be enabled/disabled from Administration > System settings > Main > Asset management > Additional attributes. Additionally, the field can be set as required field. By default, the field is disabled. |
Cost center |
Assign the cost center for this asset here. If Inherit from responsible person has been enabled from Administration > System settings > Main > Asset management > Additional attributes, user's cost center is used as the default value. This field can be enabled/disabled from Administration > System settings > Main > Asset management > Additional attributes. Additionally, the field can be set as required field. By default, the field is disabled. |
Cost center 2 |
Here you may assign an additional cost center for the asset. This field can be enabled/disabled from Administration > System settings > Main > Asset management > Additional attributes. Additionally, the field can be set as required field. By default, the field is disabled. |
Service contracts |
First row displays the date when the service contract was attached with this asset, subtype of the contract, and supplier name if provided. Service name and contract number are displayed on the second row. The third row shows the service level of the contract. |

License pools |

Related assets |
Asset configurations can have parent/child relationships defined between asset configurations. For example computer can be parent asset to display and keyboard. If the asset is a child asset, the binding to parent asset can be removed or moved to point another parent asset. For example, if the display or keyboard is moved to another computer. |
Asset group(s) |
This field can be used to view and modify the asset groups where this asset belongs. Notice that you cannot remove an asset configuration item from a dynamic asset group by modifying the asset group field at the asset configuration item page. Instead, you must modify the asset group's asset filters. For more information, please read Asset groups item and About asset groups. |

Maintenance window |
This field can be used to assign patch maintenance window(s) to the asset configuration item. You can see the schedule of the selected maintenance window by hovering over the selected maintenance window in the field. Maintenance windows presented with strikethrough formatting are disabled in Miradore. Disabled maintenance windows don't have any effect on patch management processes. Notice that you can also assign maintenance windows to asset groups by using the maintenance window setting at the asset group item page. The maintenance windows are used in security patch management process to define time slots (schedules) when Miradore clients can perform security patch installations at the managed computers without negatively affecting to the productivity of device users. Maintenance windows can be managed in "Administration > Feature settings > Patch management > Maintenance windows view". |
Block maintenance window inheritance |
This setting can be used to block the inheritance of maintenance windows from asset groups to the asset configuration item. When the check box is checked, the asset configuration items doesn't inherit patch maintenance windows from any asset group. See Inheritance of patch management settings for more information. |
Reboot options |
This settings defines what happens at this specific asset when Miradore installs a security patch that requires a computer restart. This setting can be used to override the reboot options configured at the asset group item page.
At the bottom of the field, this field also displays what reboot option is currently effective for this specific asset. |
Disable patching until |
This setting is intended to help if you need to temporarily stop Miradore from patching one specific device. If you choose a date to this field, Miradore will not patch the computer before that date. This setting is also available for reporting purposes in the Assets by name view. |
