Miradore has the "Create CIs based on inventory" system task for creating asset configuration items automatically based on inventory information collected by Miradore clients. The task analyzes the collected inventory information and creates asset configuration items into Miradore for such assets that are missing from Miradore. In addition, the system task creates asset configuration items for mobile devices that have been found with the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync connector.
The system task is automatically performed once in an hour, but it can also be started manually. However, the system task for asset auto-generation is triggered instantly if new hardware inventory data is received from a Miradore client or if new inventory data is received from Microsoft Exchange Activesync connector.

Once the system task creates a new asset configuration item automatically based on the collected inventory information, the configuration item is set to status AutoGenerated. The configuration item stays in that status until all required inventory information (responsible person and location) has been entered for the item. Once the missing data has been filled in, the configuration item is activated and ready to be used. Missing information can be entered using the Asset configuration item form of the particular item.
