How Miradore Management Suite license works
Miradore Management Suite requires a license key which specifies the license expiration date, license capacity (Maximum number of allowed managed devices per Miradore instance), and the separately licensed modules that are used in the instance of Miradore Management Suite. By default, a Miradore license is valid for one year at a time.
Definition of Managed device
Managed device is one single device used in business operations, such as a workstation or a server, on which a copy of the software agent (Miradore client) is installed or which is managed using Miradore Management Suite.
A managed device requires a license if it meets all of the following conditions:
Asset´s hardware category type is Computer, Phone, or Network device or Assets hardware category is any other than previously mentioned and asset´s "Network connectivity = Yes / Limited"
Any inventory - or connector information has been gathered from or appended to the device using a Miradore client or connector.
Asset´s status is AutoGenerated, Active, or Withdrawn from service in Miradore.
You can check which assets require a Miradore license by checking the "Requires Miradore license" column in the Operations > Asset management > Assets > By name view.
Notice!
Number of devices given during the license key generation is used as a basis for the monthly invoice. However, if Miradore license key service is used with the MSP console, then Miradore license key service adjusts the licensed amount of assets according to the number of assets that are actually managed with Miradore instances, on a daily level.
The following modules of Miradore Management Suite must be enabled with the license before they can be used:
Installations management module
Patch management module
Software asset management module
Installations management module of Miradore Management Suite contains tools for software and operating system deployment using installation packages and initial installation.
