Account lockout policy settings
Attribute |
Description |
General information |
Account lockout policy settings only apply to the Miradore user accounts, but they don't have any effect on users logging in with their Active Directory user accounts or local Windows accounts to the Miradore Management Suite server. Administrators can unlock locked accounts using the "Tasks > Unlock" option provided on the User account item. For more information about user credentials in Miradore Management Suite, please read User management. |
Lockout duration (minutes) |
This field defines the number of minutes how long the user account remains locked if the user exceeds the maximum allowed number of failed login attempts. The range of allowed values: 0 - 99999. The value 0 means that the account remains locked until unlocked by an administrator. Default value: 5. |
Number of failed logins allowed |
This field defines the maximum number of invalid login attempts that are allowed before the account is locked. A locked account cannot be used until the number of minutes specified in the Lockout duration field expires or until an administrator unlocks the account manually through the User account item. Notice that if you set this setting too low, you risk locking out legitimate users who misspelled their password or have difficulties remembering their password. On the other hand, the higher you set this value, the more vulnerable your site becomes to brute force attacks of guessing passwords through trial and error. The range of allowed values: 1 - 999. Default value: 5. |
Reset failed login count after (minutes) |
This field defines the number of minutes how long Miradore Management Suite remembers the invalid login attempts, or in other words, the number of minutes that must elapse before the counter of failed login attempts is reset to 0. The range of allowed values: 1 - 99999. Default value: 5. |

Default end-user language |
Device end-users are able to change the display language of Miradore client messages and Self service portal by using the language selector which is located in the Self service portal's top-right corner, but they can't change the language of Miradore client messages if Self service portal is disabled. In this field, administrators can configure the default end-user language for the Miradore client messages. Even after that, end-users who have access to Self service portal, can change the display language if they wish to do so. About Miradore client messages: In System settings > Patch management, administrators can configure Miradore clients to show "reboot required" dialog to device end-users when a computer restart is required after security patch installation. Also in the group distribution settings, administrators can define whether the device end-user should be able to postpone the installation of group distribution items. |

Additionally, disabling the installations management feature, also disabled the "Actions" table on the Automation task item. When installation management feature is disabled, most of the fields at the "System settings > Installations management" tab are hidden, but installation point related settings always stay visible, because they are needed for configuring patch management as well. Notice: Installation management feature gets automatically disabled by the system if the installations management (a.k.a. Export settings
Attribute |
Description |
Maximum row count |
Maximum row count: The maximum amount of rows that can be exported from a view. Exporting a very large amount of rows may cause slowdown. Detailed export settings, such as margins can be found in User settings. |
Number of rows processed per query (Excel export) |
This setting is purposed for troubleshooting the system errors caused by SQL timeouts that can occur when exporting large amounts of data from any Miradore Management Suite view to an Excel file. The setting basically adjusts the number of data rows that are processed by each SQL query when preparing the Excel file for export. The number of rows processed per query is unlimited by default. Use the setting to limit the number of rows per each query if you face system errors during Excel exports. The most suitable value depends on the environment configuration, but it is recommended to use as high value as possible, because lowering the value also slows down the export process a little. This happens because exporting the data in smaller chunks means more separate SQL queries, and thus generates some performance overhead. |
Event log settings
Attribute |
Description |
Logging level |
The selection determines the minimum level of events that are written to the log. |
Storage time |
This field configures, in days, how long the events are stored in the log. Some event logs, such as the system task engine, will create a very large number of events, so it is recommended to limit the storage time. |
