Remember to activate or request the activation of the Managed software item after creating it.

Edit attributes

Allows to edit the selected attribute of multiple managed software items at once.

Change status > Request activation

With this task, users with the role of operator, editor or license administrator can request the activation of the selected Managed software item(s).

A notification email will be sent to specified user(s) if managed software approval notifications are enabled in "Administration > System settings > Approval process notifications > Managed software approval request".

Change status > Activate

Activates the selected Managed software item(s).

Only users with the role of administrator or managed software approver can activate managed software items.

Change status > Deactivate

Deactivation changes the status of the selected Managed software item(s) back to "Created" status.

Only users with the role of administrator or managed software approver can deactivate managed software item(s).

Change status > End of life

Changes the status of the selected Managed software item(s) to "End of life".

When the status of a managed software item is changed to "End of life", the managed software item can no longer be used to build new packages or reserve licenses. Thereby, the managed software item in status "End of life" can be used for reporting only. At this point, the package bindings, of a package containing the managed software item, are usually removed or moved to another package that is built using a newer version of the managed software. See Editing package bindings for more information.

Only users with the role of administrator or managed software approver can change a managed software item's status to "end of life".
