License pool item

License pools are used for storing and managing software licenses in Miradore Management Suite.

Tab name	Description
Main	The configuration item attributes and values. Description of license pool attributes
Event log	All events related to this item are recorded and represented here.
Bindings	Shows the list of assets or users assigned to this license. This tab is only available if the licensing model is "installed instance" or "named users".
Analyze > Allocated licenses	This view shows the assets or users to whom the licenses have been allocated to.
Analyze > Allocations needed	This view shows you the devices which have the software installed without a license assigned. The view also shows user information which helps you to get compliant with the software licensing rules, no matter whether the license is user or device based.
Analyze > Allocation history	History information about the license allocations and unallocations made in this license pool.

Task

Description

Add software

With this task, administrators, license administrators and software approvers can define what software the licenses in this pool permit to use.

Running this task opens a popup in which the user can specify the permitted software in three different ways:

Choose permitted software from the list of Managed software items. Hold Ctrl-key to select multiple.
Copy all permitted software form another License pool item.
Create a new Managed software item based on software catalog records.

Close license

Unused license pools can be closed by using this.
