Miradore software management helps organisations manage and optimise the purchase, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and disposal of software applications.

Description |
Inventory collection |
By default, without any configuration actions needed, Miradore client will:
If the software catalog is used in the Miradore instance, the client also utilizes the software catalog in the software recognition process.
With this information, it is possible to create quick reports of any software. See also the intervals of software related inventory scans. |
Software reporting |
Miradore's software recognition process delivers data that accurately reflects an organization's application inventory and normalizes the data so it can be tied to other IT functions such as configuration management and software distribution. The inventory reports at "Operations > Software management > Inventory reports > Applications" on the management console of Miradore list the software titles that were found from the managed devices. The discovered software titles can be then turned into Managed software items. A managed software item is a definition of a single software product or suite, and it is required for more advanced software management operations like software usage measuring, package building, software distribution, and license management in Miradore. |
Software categorizing |
In Miradore, a managed software may have a software category attribute. The software category specifies the category of the managed software (e.g. business application). If the software catalog is used in the environment, the software categorizing is done automatically according to the software catalog during the inventory scan. However, it is possible to manually update the categorizing if necessary. |
Software utilization |
With Miradore, you can collect and report software usage information from your managed assets base. Miradore collects information about how many times software has been started, software run time and software active time. The usage is collected even when the managed device is not connected to the network. |
Installations management |
Miradore installations management includes following features: |
License management |
License management is the process 1) to reach compliance with regulations and governance 2) to manage and optimise software costs. In Miradore a license pool item is a collection of one or more purchased software licenses allowing to use a certain software or applications of certain software suite. If software catalog is used in the environment, it is possible to see from Software catalog view whether there are software installed that require a license to be purchased. |
