In Miradore Management Suite, software licenses are managed with the License pool items.
Create one license pool for each license agreement, and add all licenses that fall under the agreement into that pool. When doing so, use the license pool fields to capture details about the license. Based on the license pool information, you should be able to answer to the questions below.
What software the license permits to use?
Is the software licensed on a per user basis or based on the number of software installations?
Is the license perpetual or a rental license?
Is there any related contracts or attachments, such as the license agreement or purchase receipts?
What did the license
cost, and when did you buy it?
All existing license pools are listed in the License pools view.
If you already have a suitable license pool in Miradore, you can add newly purchased licenses to the pool by opening the license pool for edit, and using one of the actions in the License transactions table to add the licenses (picture below). Always when adding licenses to Miradore, pay careful attention to the Licensed by and Grants to use software fields, because those are very important in terms of software license management.
Miradore administrators, editors and operators with license administrator rights can create new license pools in the License pools view.
Simply, choose "Tasks > Create..." from the view toolbar and enter the license information for the pool. You can find detailed descriptions for the different fields from the License pool item attributes page. Always when adding licenses to Miradore, pay careful attention to the Licensed by and Grants to use software fields, because those are very important in terms of software license management.
Notice that before the license pool can be used, it must be activated. In order to activate the pool, choose "Tasks > Activate license" from the license pool item page.
