Endpoint backup feature of Miradore can be enabled from the "Miradore features" table at the main page of Miradore system settings.
When Endpoint backup feature is enabled, the Endpoint backup settings tab is visible at the system settings. It is recommended to check the configurations on the settings tab before moving on to next phase, where backup jobs are defined.
Notices:
Endpoint backup requires that the latest version of Endpoint backup client is available on installation point(s). The version number of the latest backup client can be configured in Endpoint backup settings in Miradore. If the Endpoint backup client is not available at the installation point(s) or no installation points have been configured, the Endpoint backup feature cannot be used.
Once Endpoint backup has been enabled from the System settings of Miradore and Endpoint backup clients have been installed to desired devices, it is possible to make backups of files located at the devices. The backup files can be stored on to a local drive or to network locations. However, if the backup files are desired to be stored to a remote server over HTTP or HTTPS protocol, then it is required to install Endpoint backup server(s). An Endpoint backup server is an HTTP(S) server for storing the backup files.
When Endpoint backup feature is disabled, Endpoint backup client cannot be accessed on managed devices and all Endpoint backup related configurations, views, reports, and inventory tabs are hid from the management console of Miradore.
