Hardware category is used in Miradore for classifying types of hardware like displays, laptops, desktops, and servers. A hardware category is always assigned to an asset model and inherited also to the asset configuration item. This field is mandatory. |

Manufacturer |
Here you enter the manufacturer of the asset model. This information is used to identify the manufacturer of an asset. You may add/remove manufacturers from this popup window. The unique asset model item is made of three attributes: Manufacturer, model and type. This field is mandatory. |
Model |
Here you enter the model name without manufacturer and detailed type information. The unique asset model item is made of three attributes: Manufacturer, model and type. This field is mandatory. |
Type |
Here you enter the model detailed type. The unique asset model item is made of three attributes: Manufacturer, model and type. This field is optional. |
Warranty (months) |
Here you enter the warranty time in months for this asset model. This value is set as a default value on all asset configuration items of this model and the warranty end date is calculated based on this value. This field is mandatory. |
Description |
You may enter free description of the asset model. This field is optional. |

An optional attribute for defining physical width of the asset model in millimeters. |

An optional attribute for defining weight of the asset model in kilograms. |
Main: Installation settings

Video settings |
Choose the default video settings for the model (optional). This setting is used by default in the initial installation. You can configure the video settings at Administration > Basic settings > Video settings. This field is optional. |
Default OS disk index |
This setting enables you to choose the default disk index for operating system installation. Options:

Assign drivers |
Automatic: Tries to match automatically all drivers and uses newest drivers found from installation point (default). Disabled: No OEM drivers installed. Only built-in drivers installed. |
Model specific drivers |
Choose driver folders to be used with this model. - Force rules are created for these folders and assigned to this model. - No other folders will be used for this model. |
Other driver rules |
List of all driver rules (other than 'force') assigned to this asset model. |
Default packages |
Choose the default packages to be installed in initial installation to asset configurations with this model defined. This field is optional. |
Notice that Installation settings table is only shown on asset models whose hardware category is computer (Desktop, Laptop, Server or Virtual PC).

Average power consumption (W) |
Enter here the average power consumption of devices representing this asset model. Default value for the average power consumption can be defined in Administration > System settings > Main > Power management > Power management settings. The average power consumption is used to calculate an estimate for device power costs. See Power management reports for more information. |

Recommended monthly print volume |
Tells the recommended average printing capacity of a printer per month. Notice that this value should be smaller than value of Maximum monthly duty cycle. Use integers only. |
Maximum monthly duty cycle |
The maximum duty cycle tells the capacity of a printer in terms of number of prints that can be printed in a month without damaging the printer. If you hit the maximum duty cycle continuously every month, most printers don’t last even a year. Use integers only. |
