License transactions

License transactions are agreements made for usage of licensed product between owner organization and license vendor issuing the product license. License transactions depend on the model of the license which may be either "Perpetual" or "Rental". The rental license grants to use certain software for some predefined period of time, whereas the perpetual license grants to use the certain software for infinite time. The license transactions are listed with their descriptions on the following table. You can use the License transactions by software view to display your license transactions.

Add purchase info...

Adds a purchased license with detailed information into the license pool.

Following information concerning the purchase can be stored into Miradore: Name of the purchase, Purchase date, Number of purchased licenses, Unit price, Order number, Vendor, Owner organization, The person who is responsible for the transaction and Additional information.

Add maintenance...

Attaches maintenance to current licenses in the pool for defined period of time. Maintenance can be added only for the perpetual licenses.

Add upgrade...

Upgrade license allows the license owner who have purchased an older version of the software, to upgrade to a newer version without purchasing a new license. The upgrade is always attached to previously purchased licenses.

Reassign licenses...

Reassigns defined amount of licenses to another license pool.

Rental

Add rental period...

Adds defined amount of licenses into the license pool that grants to use the defined software for some defined period of time.
