Monitor item

About

Monitor items are predefined functions that are used to monitor the health and status of Miradore environment and the configuration items within the environment. The monitor items can be enabled or disabled from the Tasks -menu of the monitor item form. By default some of the monitors are disabled. See Monitors for more information about the built-in event monitors of Miradore. All events generated by the monitors are listed on the Event queue view of Miradore.

There are two types of monitors. Part of the monitors are associated with some specific operations which are then spotted from the event log, whereas the other part of monitors are based on scheduled tasks. For example, changing system settings always creates a new event if the system settings modified - monitor is enabled. This kind of monitors work almost in real time.

Monitors which are based on scheduled tasks are executed every night at 00:05 am, when the new events are also created, if necessary. For example, expiring leasing contract is clearly a case which will be noticed by a monitor which is based on scheduled tasks. When the days left to expiration date go under predefined threshold value, which could be for example 30 days, an event is created.
