At the managed devices, patch scanning and installations are performed by MDPatcher. Running of MDPatcher can be controlled from the system settings of Miradore Management Suite with the Built-in scheduled tasks for patch scan and install (picture). Notice that you can either use the built-in profile or add your own scheduled task profiles in the Edit mode.
Below you see a screenshot of a scheduled task profile, which was created for scanning and installing patches on the pilot group devices.
Good to know
- On the Asset page, you can disable patching for one specific device until specific date. This is helpful if you want to prevent Miradore from patching the device during maintenance for example.
- Patcher will run both during the allowed time frame and during the maintenance windows. Maintenance windows do not have to be inside allowed time frame.
- If you want Miradore to scan patches daily, we recommend to set the allowed time frame to 12 hours, instead of 1 day.
- It is possible to configure the MDPatcher to show a system tray notification message to device user when it starts or finishes patch installation. You can do this at the System settings > Main > Patch management > System tray notification settings.
