Type |
Describes the type of the installation point. HTTP(s) is used with mobile devices. Following selections are available:
|
Host name |
Host name or IP address of the installation point device. This field is mandatory. |
Directory name |
HTTP root directory, where the installation media is located. This field is mandatory. |
Share name |
Enter a share name (e.g. Setup) for the installation point. This field is mandatory. |
Full name |
Full name consists of server name combined with the location path of the installation media. This field is filled automatically. |
HTTP(s) settings |
The HTTP settings are described on the following rows. |
Port |
Port is a numeral value which determines which port is used for the HTTP(s) connections. The default port is 443. |
Use SSL |
This selection determines whether the SSL is used for securing the communications or not. Following selections are available:
Note! If you choose No, the Use custom SSL Certificate field is hid. |
Read authentication |
This field allows to define the username and password that are used to read the installation point files. Username used for share mapping. This setting overrides the default username for mapping an installation point. Important note! Ensure that the user account doesn't have excessive user rights. It is enough that the user account is allowed to read the contents of the setup folder on the installation point, but it doesn't need to have access permissions to anywhere else. Password used for share mapping. This setting overrides the default password for mapping an installation point. Show characters check box determines whether the password is shown or not. Password is kept hidden if the check box is not checked. Note! If you use special characters in the password, only following special characters are allowed `~!@#$*-_+:?/.[]{} This field is optional. |
Parent |
This field defines the parent installation point for this installation point in the installation point hierarchy. During the replication, installation point replicates the files from it's parent installation point. |

Description |
Default installation point |
This field determines whether this installation point is used as system default or not. If default installation point = Yes, this installation point is used as a default installation point in Miradore. |
Accessible from Internet |
This field describes whether this installation point is accessible from Internet or only from the company VPN. |
Only for mobiles |
This field defines the operating system platform to which this installation point is dedicated to. Only for mobiles means that the installation point is reserved only for mobile clients. Otherwise, all clients are able to connect this installation point. |
Assigned locations |
This field defines the locations to which this installation points is assigned to. The assets assigned to the listed locations will then use this installation point. |

Attribute name |
Description |
Media master |
Determines whether this installation point is a media master or not (Yes/No). The media master is used as comparison basis for media status reporting and replication. The files are replicated from the media master to all other installation points within the same Miradore instance. Only one media master can exist at a time. |
Media status |
Media status describes the status of the files at the installation point. Media status can be one of the following:
|
Reported |
This field displays the date
and time when the files at this installation point were last time
compared with the files at the master installation point. Click
the |
Schedule |
This field defines the running interval and allowed time frame for reporting of this installation point. Running interval determines how often the files at the installation point are compared with the files at the media master installation point. Allowed time frame determines when Miradore is allowed to perform reporting for the files at this installation point. Use "hh-hh" format to define the allowed time frame (e.g. 22-06). Only full hours can be used to define the time frame. If these field are left empty, the default values from Miradore system settings are used. Attribute name |
Description |
Replication enabled |
This field defines whether the replication is enabled for this installation point or not. If the replication is enabled, the files are replicated from the parent installation point to this installation point according to the defined schedule if the files at this installation point are out-of-date when compared with the files at the media master installation point. |
Write authentication |
This field allows to define the username and password that are used to authenticate to the network share. Make sure that the account has write permissions to the network share. The administrator username used for installation point replication. This setting overrides the default user name defined in the system settings that would be used for installation point replication. The administrator password used for installation point replication. This setting overrides the default password defined in the system settings that would be used for installation point replication. Show characters check box determines whether the password is shown or not. Password is kept hidden if the check box is not checked. Note! If you use special characters in the password, only following special characters are allowed `~!@#$*-_+:?/.[]{} This field is optional. |
Schedule |
This field defines the running interval and allowed time frame for reporting and replication of this installation point. Running interval determines how often the files at the installation point are compared with the files at the media master installation point and how often the replication tasks are executed. Allowed time frame determines when Miradore is allowed to perform reporting or replication for the files at this installation point. Use "hh-hh" format to define the allowed time frame (e.g. 22-06). Only full hours can be used to define the time frame. If these field are left empty, the default values from Miradore system settings are used. (Administration > System settings > Main > Installation management > Installation point replication settings) |
Replication settings |
Maximum concurrent child replications defines how many concurrent child replications are allowed for this installation point. More than specified amount of installation points cannot replicate from this installation point at once. |
Max replication bandwidth |
This field defines, in kilobytes per second, a limit for maximum allowed bandwidth use for file replication on this installation point. Enter "0" if you wish not to set any limits. The default value in this field, is inherited from "System settings > Installations management > Installation point replication settings > Default maximum bandwidth use for replication". |
Exclude files |
This field allows to enter names of the files that should not be replicated from the installation point to the other installation points. Use ';' as a separator between multiple file names. Notice: Miradore Management Suite automatically excludes some log files and configuration files from file replication. |
Inherited exclude file rules |
This field displays the file exclusion rules inherited from the parent installation point(s). |
Exclude folders |
This field allows to define folder names that should not be replicated from the installation point to the other installation points. Use ';' as a separator between multiple folder names. If you want to exclude a specific folder, give the full path from the installation point's root to the folder, starting with backslash: \Software\Common\Adobe You can specify multiple folders by separating them with a semicolon: \Software\Common\Adobe;\Software\Common\Microsoft If you want to exclude a specifically named folder under any path on the installation point, leave out the backslash from the beginning: Linux You can also define a folder using a part of the full path, like: OS\Linux |
Inherited exclude folder rules |
This field displays the folder exclusion rules inherited from the parent installation point(s). |
Last run |
This field displays when
the files at this installation point were last time replicated
from the parent installation point. Click the chart |
Next run |
This field displays when Miradore will next time try to replicate the files from the parent installation point to this installation point. |
