This views shows the software license compliance status for the existing
license pools. Click the icon on the left-most column
to view details by software.
Notice that there is a lot of data columns which are disabled by default in the view. For example the Allocations needed column is useful for finding out how many licenses still need to be allocated from the pool based on the identified software installations. By clicking on that number, you get to see a report which shows you the exact devices or users having the software installed without a license.
If you want to know what exact assets or users have been counted in when calculating the identified installations, click on the link in the Software name column and analyze the installations through the Managed software items Analyze tab.
The following table explains the indicators used to illustrate the license compliance status of the license pools.
Green status icon means that the license pool is compliant with the licensing terms. A license pool is compliant if it fulfils either of the following conditions:
Yellow status icon is displayed for a license pool when Allocations needed < Licenses available. This happens when you have enough free licenses in the license pool, but you haven't yet assigned the licenses to all users or assets that require a license. Allocate the licenses to achieve full license compliance. For instructions, please read About license allocation. Also notice that the system performs the automatic license allocation daily at 03:05 AM. |
Red status icon means that the license pool is not compliant with the licensing terms. This means that Allocations needed > Licenses available. In this case, you might be violating the terms of the license agreement, because you have purchased too few licenses, or the software is being overused in your organization. Please check the license agreement, the license pool, and the demand of licenses. In order to avoid penalties for software license violations, purchase more licenses and allocate them to the users or assets needing them OR uninstall the installed instances of software that are violating the license agreement.
